The head of the Landlords’ Association of Ireland has diminished predictions of a 25% rent rise over the course of two years.
Earlier this week, estate agents Savills stated that prices would go up by a quarter of what they already are over the next two years.
However, director of the Residential Landlords Association of Ireland, Mr. Fintan McNamara, has since calmed our collective soul and claimed the rent rise would be much slower than expected.
I don’t expect rents will go up 25% in the next two years.
Rents have climbed in many instances, but they needed to because landlords are very heavily taxed and they need the money to meet their overheads.
Let’s hope he’s right…
