There has been TOTAL chaos on Dublin roads today.
There was a serious crash earlier in the day on the M7, near junction 11, and blockages were put in place which led to major tailbacks.

Traffic was so bad, in fact, that motorists began to do U-turns and drive backwards down the motorway in the opposite direction – just to avoid traffic.
Highly dangerous behaviour!
Jesus. Cars driving wrong way down M7 to get away from tailback due to accident. Insane.

And once one person did it, many more began to follow suit.
What was one car has now become two dozen. Pretty ridiculous. Asking for further accidents. @gardatraffic pic.twitter.com/oI2hx5T72U

It is believed a car flipped in the crash on the M7. It is unknown whether there were injuries as a result of the accident.
Traffic on the M7 and surrounding roads is finally starting to clear now in the last hour.
