Two Armed Robbers Are On The Run After A Garda Car Was Rammed In Raheny

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a security guard was robbed in Raheny this afternoon. 

The incident occurred when a the guard was approached by a man armed with a hammer while making a cash delivery to a bank in Raheny Village. He was forced to hand over the cash box before the raider left the scene in a Renault Megane driven by a second male. 

A short time later, the vehicle rammed into a Garda patrol car on the Clontarf Road before being found abandoned on La Vista Avenue, Clontarf.

No arrests have been made. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, Raheny Garda Station on 01 666 4300 or any other Garda station.
