The Garda Cyber Crime Bureau are warning people that their private information could be at risk if they use online banking apps on their mobile phone.
According to
Independent.ie, user's private information, such as passwords, could be at risk if their phone is attacked by cyber criminals.
The Garda Cyber Crime Bureau have issued the following advice:
- Only use official banking apps downloaded from a trusted source
- Back up your device regularly – a malware attack could wipe your phone clean
- Ensure phone software is up to date and be aware that 'Jailbreaking' can compromise your phone's security
Better safe than sorry.
