Everyone seems to have an opinion on Dublin cyclists.
Whether you love them, loathe them or just HATE to see them without a helmet (think of their poor little heads) everyone seems to have come one-to-one with the speedy fiends of Dublin's roads.
However, now Dublin Cycling Campaign are letting their voices be heard, and demanding more space for them and their kind – proposing a segregated cycle path, entitled The Liffey Cycleway, which will run along Dublin’s North Quays.
The 4.6km two-way path will provide a safe and accessible cycle route from the Phoenix Park all the way to the Point Village.
Such a facility would open up cycling to people of all ages and abilities, especially those who would like to cycle but are too intimidated by the current traffic conditions.
To support this movement, all you have to do is get on yer bike.
No, seriously.
The powers-that-be have created an event to run this Sunday, April 2, whereby all the cyclists for the motion of the proposed Liffey Cycleway are being asked to come together at 11am at the Wellington Monument in the Phoenix Park and cycle as far as the Point Village, showing how badly the proposed route is needed.
Simples.
