Graffiti Artist Banksy Supposedly Created This Picture On Moore Street Last Night

seank

Protests have been taking place recently to save historic buildings on Dublin’s Moore Street, and now it appears that Banksy is among their supporters.

The famed English artist is known for creating socially aware and darkly satirical street art, and this piece bearing the Banksy tag was left at the site of the Moore Street protest last night.

The street art is inspired by a picture of Pádraig Pearse surrendering to British soldiers in 1916, which is significant as it was here that Pearse and his comrades supposedly surrendered to British forces.

It is not yet clear if Banksy is the genuine artist behind the piece of street art (he generally doesn’t tag his work) or if it is merely a tribute.
