WATCH: Storm Diana Destroyed This Part Of Dublin Today And Wednesday’s Going To Be Even Worse

We’ve already witnessed what Storm Diana did to this Irish county earlier today but it looks as though this part of Dublin got it the worst.

This video was taken and shows cars trying to pass by the Shelbourne Road despite a massive flood of water taking over the whole entire street.

This is the sort of damage that the elements did to the capital before Storm Diana even properly landed.

It’s actually recommended by AA Roadwatch that drivers try their best to avoid standing water where possible.

They are told to not drive into water that’s moving or more than 4 inches deep. This is most certainly higher than 4 inches.

If you do have to pass through it, however, you are asked to drive slowly and steadily so you don’t make a bow wave and you should test your brakes as soon as you can afterwards.

They say on their website that:

“Driving fast through water is dangerous, inconsiderate and can end up being very expensive.

“Your tyres can lose contact with the road, causing you to lose steering control – called aquaplaning. If you feel it happening, hold the steering lightly and lift off to slow down gently until your tyres grip again.

“At anything above a slow crawl you’ll throw water onto pavements, soaking pedestrians or cyclists. You could be fined and get points on your licence for this.

“It only takes an egg cupful of water to be sucked into your engine to wreck it, and on many cars the engine’s air intake is low down at the front.”
