Every week, we focus on some of Dublin’s top offices and this time around we’re looking at Slack on Hatch Street, Dublin 2.
Offices around the country may be familiar with Slack, since so many of us use the platform at work every day, but not many of you will know what Slack’s offices look like.
Spoiler alert: it’s impressive.
Overlooking the Iveagh Gardens, this space has been designed to imitate its surroundings. A theme based on the streets of Dublin allows for meandering walkway “streets” to connect the different areas within the building.
Passionate about maintaining healthy work-life balance for their employees, Slack’s motto is “work hard and go home” — which is a philosophy that seems increasingly rare these days.
Slack’s aim primarily lies in creating an environment that allows employees to “do the best work of their lives”.
So all of the added extras, including a state-of-the-art coffee machine, break-out areas and a massage room, have been implemented with a view to making their employees more productive – as well as more content in their work.
The whole idea of the Slack platform is facilitating productivity and this is very much the approach in the office too, with the architect revealing that “the more you use the space, the more you get from it”.
It’s not all work and no play though.
The Slack team are very focused on creating an atmosphere of “belonging and inclusion”, with bi-weekly ‘family-style’ meals where the whole team gets to eat a proper feast together.
All these things combine to form a warm environment where staff feel happy and motivated to come to work Monday to Friday.
Slack’s EMEA HQ currently has open roles in Customer Experience, Sales, Operations Engineering and Business Operations.

Slack EMEA HQ is located on Hatch Street in Dublin 2 overlooking the picturesque Iveagh Gardens.
Focusing on Slack’s core values and mission statements, as well as pulling from our local environment, ODOS Architects focused the design of the office space on the streets of Dublin.
With the inspiration in place, ODOS has designed an office that is both functional and design focused. Every nook and cranny of the immaculately designed walkways, rebar living walls and meeting rooms can be used as meeting points or collaboration areas.
