7 Dazzling Dishes To Try This Week
one for each day of the week
I'm eating my way around Dublin one plate at a time.
Now it's time to really dish (geddit?) the deets and let you in on what's really tickling my taste buds. Each week I'm going to compile a boujee lil' list for you all to explore.
Enjoy my lovelies xxx
(Yes, I just put "xxx" in an article, god if my teachers saw me now, flourishing as a journo)
1. Charcuterie Plate - Loose Canon
When a new place opens up in the city, I make it my mission to try it as soon as possible. In this instance, I was straight in the door when I heard thatLoose Canon had opened its doors on Drury Street.
The wine and cheese shop turns into a foodie haven in the evenings with boards full and glasses flowing.
It's not just about the cheese however, these guys serve up a savage charcuterie plate of decadent Irish meats and crunchy sourdough bread.
2. Eggs Benedict - The Lovely Food Co
So I know what you're thinking, eggs benny is the brunch dish of the basic bitch.
When it's done right, it's feckin' class. Last week I was feeling a little fragile, food was the only thing that would cure me.
My boyfriend kindly brought me to The Lovely Food Co. in Drumcondra and as I looked at the menu, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to eat. After a creamy hot choccy to settle the stomach, the tastiest eggs Benedict was put in front of me. Juicy ham hock and loaded in sauce, my stomach woes were turned to a happy food baby.
So fricken good.
3. Corn On The Cob - Masa
It's a random one but I am a corn lover.
Thing is, if it's not cooked properly it can be nasty, squishy and bland.
Newly opened Taqueria, Masa, have my my corn dreams come true. Covered in cheese and seasoning, there's so much flavour it's delish.
4. Mikado - The Cupcake Bloke
A taste of childhood.
These sweet treats taste just like Kimberly Mikados (but better).
The cakes rotate every now and then and word on the street is that this week there's a brand new variation with a little more zing.
5. Dragon Roll - Banyi
Last week, I got to try a fab five-course tasting menu in Banyi on Abbey Street.
One of the highlights of this menu was the wonderfully presented Dragon Roll.
Sushi lovers unite.
6. Gin Infused Donut - The Rolling Donut
The Rolling Donut are always coming up with new and intriguing flavours but I think this might just be my favourite.
They have released two flavours: Gin, lime and elderflower and strawberry gin.
They're light, zingy, fruity and insta goals.
Need I say more?
7. Espresso Martini - Robertas
It's hard to find an espresso martini that stands out from the rest but when I tried this one I was blown away, it tastes just like a Terry's Chocolate Orange but it still has that bitter coffee kick.
It's made from Ketel One Oranje, Coffee Liquor, coffee, sugars and orange zest and costs €11.
Cheers to that!
Now, go forth my beauties and enjoy these wonderful plates of heaven.
Forks at the ready!
