The 6 Best Restaurants For A Great Vegan Feed In Dublin

fiodhna_hm

So we’ve done the the best steaks and burgers in the city.

Those carnivores are covered. And now, it’s time for the vegans to have their moment in the sun.

Here are six great spots in Dublin where you can get a delicious animal-free feed!

1. Govinda’s

Two locations, one on either side of the Liffey and so many options on the menu to choose from.

Most dishes can be made vegan on request, and you can even get egg-free mayonnaise on their unbelievable veggie burger.

Also, if you rock up near closing time they give away boxes and boxes of food for €2 – €5, very nifty indeed!

2. Umi Falafel

I mean, you had me at falafel, but this spot is quite the little gem.

They do amazing fresh falafel, as well as lots of Middle Eastern meze and salad dishes.

Prices are really reasonable, and they staff are especially speedy with takeout orders at lunchtime if you need a good lunch in a rush.

3. The Happy Pear

Ok so I know, it’s not technically in Dublin but I’d be lying if I said the Happy Pear guys aren’t kings of vegan food.

Well worth the trip at the weekend for plates upon plates of amazing fresh salads, and surprisingly healthy vegan treats for dessert.

4. Cornucopia

No matter what you’re in the mood for, you will find it on offer at Cornucopia.

The lengthy queue gives you enough time to fully dissect all the incredible dishes they have on offer – from hotpots to stews, and soups to salads.

Massive portions and great prices make this a go-to spot for vegans in the city centre.

5. Sova Food Vegan Butcher

Now, I must warn you this spot was a pop-up in Martcade in Lower Rathmines, but they’re currently looking for a new location in which to re-open.

They make just about every kind of dish in vegan form: lentil and aubergine “meat”-balls, chia burgers with caramelised onions and pickled cucumbers, and so much more. Oh, and they also have edible vegan plates – madness!

Keep an eye on their social, as I’ve no doubt these skilled vegan butchers will be cropping up again very soon.

6. Staple Foods

A firm favourite here in LD Towers, Staple Foods do the kind of salads you dream about even when hungover.

Their vegan Mexican Street Food Salad is particularly delish, and you’ll be full for hours after it.

They’ve also now got a new outlet on Grattan Street which perfect for anyone working over that side of the city
