The Top 10 Meat Eats In Dublin

emmakenneally

While it is summer and most of us are enjoying lighter, fresher and healthier food (hopefully), sometimes all we want is a meaty eat. Thankfully Dublin has an incredible and buzzing restaurant scene with something for everyone which makes putting these lists together so easy.

This post is for the carnivores of Dublin and covers the restaurants we love the most for meaty meals. Make sure to let us know if you feel we left any goodies off the list in the comments below.

10. Kenny’s of Lucan

The perfect place to go with your family for a proper old-school, delicious meal. Kenny’s is a family run business that has been around for generations and is known for serving up high-quality, hearty and meaty meals. This is traditional Irish bar food at it’s best.

9. Boojum Burrito

We felt it would be wrong to have a “Meat Eats” list and not include a big juicy burrito on our list. Our top pick at the moment is Boojum where you can get your burrito packed with tender chicken, beef or pork. They also do vegetarian options for any vegetarian friends that may be coming along with you while you get your fix. They’re located on the Milenium Walkway in Dublin and they’re currently opening a second location on Kevin Street.

8. Asador

Asador

You may or may not have already read our review on Asador, but it is a total gem. They have an extensive menu but the steak and the BBQ meat offerings will be of particular interest to any committed carnivores. The restaurant on Haddington Road is a high-end Spanish style BBQ restaurant. This is definitely a spot to go to with friends as their sharing platters are incredible. They also have a fantastic seafood menu so if you go with a group, there will be something for everyone.

7. Marco Pierre White

If your meat craving comes in the form of steak and chips, then you really need to try out the steaks in Marco Pierre White’s steakhouse and grill on Dawson Street. This is definitely a place to save up for and splash the cash on a very rich and decadent meal. They also do a value menu that sounds great and has some very meaty eats on it but doesn’t include the steaks.

6. The Goat Grill, Goatstown

How could we create a ‘Meat Eats’ list without including a carvery? The Goat Grill has a cult following at this point for their delicious carvery that has people travelling especially there for their meaty fix. They also have an A La Carte menu that has loads on offer to suit everyone with delicious seafood and salads also on offer.

5. Pitt Bros

Pitt

If pulled pork is your thing, then you need to head down to Pitt Bros BBQ on Georges street to get your fix. A classic American style BBQ joint they serve up all kinds of meats but we love their ribs, pulled pork and sausage the best. It’s really reasonably priced and if you pop in at lunchtime they do great pulled pork baps.

4. Poulet Bonne Femme

Free-Range-Bronze-Turkey

Pulled pork and brisket are really having their moment, and for good reason too. Sometimes though there’s nothing more satisfying then tucking into a freshly roasted, juicy and tender chicken. When it comes to roast chicken, our top spot is definitely Poulet Bonne Femme. They serve up their meaty delights in the Avocas in Suffolk Street, Monkstown and Rathcoole. While they serve a whole range of succulent meats including pork, ham, beef, duck and lamb, it’s the chicken that we can’t stop going back for. You can buy a rotisserie chicken to take home or you can sit in and have some chicken shredded into a juicy sandwich, and recently they have started doing meaty salads too.

3. Whitefriar Grill

In our experience, Whitefriar Grill has never disappointed. Their menu is really diverse and we’re weak for their brunch menu. But if you’re looking for meat, you need to try their Rib n Rump. I think the picture above says it all.

2. Bison Bar

Bison Bar is heaven for meat eaters. They smoke and slow roast their meats over night and serve them up with tasty sides of coleslaw, beans, chips and more. We love Bison because it’s great food, great atmosphere, no frills and is really inexpensive. It’s located on Wellington Quay and right next door to the Workman’s Club should you need to quench your thirst after all that meat. Their brisket get’s my top vote but everything on their menu is delicious.

1. The Butcher’s Grill

The Butcher Grill

Our number one pic for a meat blow out is The Butcher’s Grill. We’re convinced their Full Irish Breakfast at the weekends is the best in the city. Their evening menu is incredible with a whole range of steaks, ribs and sides like mashed potato with bone marrow butter and black eyed beans with smoked bacon? We’re sold!

Those are our top pics for Meat Eats in Dublin, but let us know yours and if you feel there’s another restaurant we missed that deserves a shout out.
