All the talk surrounding bus transport in Dublin lately has been about the new proposed 'BusConnect' routes.
This has caused massive controversy since it was first proposed because it is replacing Dublin Bus routes.
And while the jury is still out on those, we can be sure that everyone will be in agreement that free transport is the best type.
Well, Silicon Republic is reporting that Dublin will host pilot run of an autonomous bus service on 21 and 22 September.
This bus will be able to carry up to 15 passengers and on those two days, will take people on a 1km, four-stop route from Dublin Convention Centre to 3Arena for free from 2pm to 5pm on the 21st and 11am to 5pm the following day.

Dublin City Council’s chief executive, Owen Keegan, said about the new buses: “With the rapid pace of technology change, there is a wide range of innovative sustainable transport opportunities.
“The traditional models of commuting will expand to incorporate a whole range of shared transport options, including the use of shared bikes, electric scooters, car clubs and new, on-demand autonomous shuttle services such as the EasyMile shuttle.”
