Dublin is topping lists for all the wrong reasons these days.

A few weeks ago, it was announced as one of the most expensive places in the world to buy a Christmas tree.

The average price of Christmas tree in Dublin costs way more than it would in New York or London.

And now, Dublin is officially the most expensive capital in the world for tourists to visit.

The cost of Dublin's top ten attractions has seen it bag a place among the top five most expensive capitals in the world.

The study, conducted by Cuba Holidays, found that Dublin is over 1000% times more expensive than the cheapest city on the list, Jakarta in Indonesia.

“Another of the biggest costs in Dublin was hotel rooms, which averaged out around €55, putting it towards the more expensive end for hotels," said the authors.

In other categories in terms of most expensive, Dublin came 11th in hotel prices and 10th in eating out, cups of coffee, pints and cost of transport.
