Carole’s story
I walked into the pub and saw the guy: beard, check-shirt, tall, smasher.
We started chatting, and he went up to the bar to buy us a drink. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, I sat at the table with him and started chatting away.
However, he hadn't bought me the drink and was acting really strange. About ten minutes later, I glanced to my right and saw my ACTUAL date sitting at the table beside us, staring at me.
I was clearly sitting at the wrong table, with yer man's doppelganger.
I made a hasty exit, sat at the correct table with my original date and pretended as if nothing happened. Needless to say, we did not go out again.
