So apparently today is Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Research was carried out a few years ago that found weather and bank balances on the third Monday of January cause people to feel most miserable.
However, we’re here to tell you to ignore all that shite and just go about your day normally. But, if you did wake up feeling a bit crappy, here are five ways to feel more sprightly today…
1. Go for a walk on your lunch break
We’re all a bit lacking in Vitamin D at the moment, so get out on your break and soak up some rays (or at the very least, some daylight).
2. Listen to some quality tunes
Music always puts you in a good mood, so throw on something uplifting on your headphones and have a little bop at your desk. Here’s an appropriate first suggestion…
3. Plan some exercise for later
Whether it’s yoga, kettlebells, hitting up the gym or going for a jog around your area – exercise will help get some endorphins on the hustle.
4. Do a good deed
Being nice to other humans will make you feel nice too, promise! Pay for the person behind you when grabbing coffee this morning, or else pick up a sandwich and pass it on to the next homeless person you see.
5. Be thankful
Ok so I’m not suggesting you go all #blessed on Insta, but think about someone that you appreciate having in your life and shoot them a cute text. Warm fuzzies all round!
