The DSPCA Animals That Need Your Love

emmakenneally

It’s that time of the week again when the good people over in the DSPCA have given us a peek at some of the beautiful animals up for adoption this week. There are four dogs and three cats that need a nice home and a loving owner. We’re hoping that anyone out there thinking of getting a pet will read this and hopefully take a trip out the the DSPCA shelter in Rathfarnham to meet all the beautiful animals they take care of.

1. Jacob

My name is Jacob and I’m a 6 month old terrier cross. I’m a sweet boy that loves to play and like all typical terriers I love my walks. I can be a little nervous at times. I’d be best suited to a home with teenagers or an adult only home. I do get on with other dogs. I was found wandering all alone but thankfully a kind lady brought me to the DSPCA to find a new loving home.

2. Archie

My name is Archie and I’m a 4.5 year old Collie Labrador cross. I am a very friendly man with a really sweet personality. I will make a lovely family pet for anyone with kids 8+. I have lots of energy and I love playing with my tennis ball. I am a wonderful guy who deserves an equally wonderful home. My new home needs to be cat free… they are too much fun to chase!

3. Bosco

My name is Bosco and I’m a 3 year old lurcher. When I came to the DSPCA I was really sick but all the staff took great care of me and now I’m ready to find my new home. I’m a very shy boy and need a quite home with teenagers or adults only. I’m very well behaved. I’m nervous while out walking but once I’m settled and used to my new surroundings I’ll get better. I need a loving home with lots of TLC!

4. Darcy

Hi my name is Darcy and I’m a beautiful 1-2 year old female Lurcher. I was found wandering the grounds of a Dublin hospital, frightened and starving. I am a nervous lady who will need a very quiet adult only home. I love other dogs and would prefer to have a canine friend or two… Bosco is one of my best friends… he’s looking for a home too! I am more confident, outgoing and playful around other doggies. I am showing signs of becoming more comfortable with people, but I still have a bit of a way to go. A combination of time, love and chicken will be they key to my heart!

5. Tony

My name is Tony and I’m a 3 year old affectionate ginger and white gentleman!  My almost identical twin brother William was adopted already, so it’s my turn to find a forever home!

I was left behind by my owners when they moved house.  I was so confused about where my family went, but luckily I had a kind neighbour to feed me until I got taken to the DSPCA. My carers here at the shelter have been so lovely, but I’m ready for a new forever family.  If you think that could be you, please come and meet me at the Cattery!

6. Socks

My name is Socks and I’m a 3 year old beautiful lady. I’m mostly black but as you can tell from my name,  I’m always wearing white socks!  They are cosy and fuzzy, just like me!  I’m quite an affectionate girl and I love a good rub down but sometimes I get a little too caught up in the moment so I’d be best suited to a home without small children. My owner moved and couldn’t keep me or my brother anymore. He got adopted last week from the DSPCA, and now it’s my turn! I mean, ladies first, right?!

7. Birdie

Hi, I’m Birdie… one look at me and your heart will soar! I’m a 6 year old tortie lady who just arrived at the DSPCA.  I’ve been well-loved my whole life but my owner could no longer care for me due to health issues. I can’t wait to be in a new home where I can lounge and chow down, my 2 favourite things! Actually the vets here say it would be great if I could get some exercise, so hopefully you’ll become my new playtime buddy!

If you are interested in adopting any of the dogs above from the DSPCA then please come and visit the shelter. The DSPCA is located at Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16. The shelter is open 7 days a week from 11am – 4.30pm. You can also call the adoptions team on 01 499 4710.
