The DSPCA Animals That Need Some Lovin Homes

emmakenneally

This is the second week of our collaboration with DSPCA in a bid to help them find some loving homes for the beautiful animals they are currently taking care of in their shelter in Rathfarnham. You’ll recognise Troy from last week, a beautiful german shepherd retriever cross, who is still looking for a home along with four new dogs and two cats.

If you’re thinking of getting a dog or cat as a pet, please visit the DSPCA shelter to see all the gorgeous animals waiting to be adopted by some friendly Dubliners!

1. Olivia

Olivia is a 3 year old Lurcher. She’s a sweet lady with a fabulous personality. She came to the DSPCA because she had nobody to look after her. She gets on well with some dogs, but not all dogs, so she would prefer a home with no other dogs. She would be suitable for a home with children 16+, or an adult only home. Like all Lurchers, once she has a good walk, she will pretty much sleep for the rest of the day. She’s a real couch potato! She would enjoy doing some training too.

2. Bosco

Bosco is a 3 year old lurcher. He’s a very shy boy and needs a quite home with teenagers or adults only. He’s very well behaved. He’s nervous while out walking but once he’s settled and used to his new surroundings he’ll get better. He needs a loving home with lots of TLC.

3. Storm

Storm is an 8 month old Labrador Staffie cross boy. Storm came to the DSPCA as a very young puppy. He was found dumped in a sports bag underneath a bridge. He was adopted along with his best friend (a kitten!) but sadly his new family could no longer look after him due to a change in their work schedule. He’s a sweet, friendly boy with a wonderful personality. He love’s other dogs and loves people of all ages. He could knock over very small children so would suit a family with children 8+.

4. Troy

Troy is  a 4 year old Retriever German Shepherd Cross. He’s a handsome man who needs a home with another dog or two so that he can run and play with them. He can be quite strong on the lead but he walks well on a non-pull harness. He house trained and loves people and other dogs. He would suit a family with teenagers because he can get a bit over-enthusiastic with his cuddles!

5. Darcy

Darcy is a beautiful 1-2 year old female Lurcher. She was found wandering the grounds of a Dublin hospital, frightened and starving. She is a nervous lady who will need a very quiet adult only home. She loves other dogs and would prefer to have a canine friend or two as she is more confident, outgoing and playful around other doggies. She is showing signs of becoming more comfortable with people, but she still has a bit of a way to go. A combination of time, love and chicken will be they key to her heart!

6. Sue Ellen

Sue Ellen is a 5 year old elegant and classy lady. She was found living on the streets and in a really bad way… her pretty little ears were bitten and very sore. It took her a while to get back to her  former glory and now she’s ready to find a forever mansion! She’s one of the best behaved cats we’ve ever met… will you give her a second chance in life?

7. Nikki

Nikki is a little Tortoiseshell girl, approximately 3 years old. She used to live with her beloved owner and 3 other kitty friends where she was very happy. Sadly, her owner had to move and break up her lovely family. She’s still a little nervous because of all this, but she’s trying her  best to keep her chin up by hoping that very soon she will find a new forever home. A family made up of humans and felines would suit her just fine!

If you are interested in adopting any of the dogs above from the DSPCA then please come and visit the shelter. The DSPCA is located at Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.
