This Is Why It’s So Unbelievably Warm In Ireland Today

Anyone else have to take their jacket off while walking in to work this morning? Or notice all the people walking around wearing t-shirts?

That’s because temperatures were at between 13° and 15° in Dublin this morning, at about 8am. 

IN DECEMBER. 

And here’s why…

BBC Journalist and weatherman, Barra Best, tweeted yesterday, noticing that temperatures were higher than normal, that ‘milder air is driving temperatures above average across Ireland today. 7/8C is normal – we’ve reached 13C at noon.…’ 

He also stated that it would be ‘Milder again tomorrow’, ie today. 

And he wasn’t wrong, take a look at this. And we know, it’s not ideal that the British Weather twitter account is showing us this, but bear with. 

Check out the temperature at 6am this morning. 

And 8am…

Crazy, right?

And the milder air of the south is the reason why. Simples. 

So, basically, blame the southern temperatures for why you’re sweating this morning…
