Watch This Extraordinary Anti-Irish TV Rant From A Top Australian Government Adviser

aidan

You wouldn’t expect too much class from a man who once had to apologise to Julia Gillard for saying Australian people “ought to be kicking her to death”.

And Liberal Party adviser Grahame Morris certainly delivered on his piss-poor reputation with this extraordinary racist (and borderline homophobic) rant about the Irish people.

Commenting on the renewed push for same-sex marriage in Australia, following our successful referendum result last weekend, Morris said:

“The trigger was a vote in Ireland. Now I love the Irish, the parliament is full of Irishmen but these are people who can’t grow potatoes, who have a mutant lawn weed as their national symbol and they can’t verbalise the difference between tree and the number three.

“And then all of a sudden, Australia has to follow suit.”

Morris was chief of staff to ex-Prime Minister John Howard, and is a highly prominent face in Australian politics – as a conservative commentator and as a a member of the Liberal Party.

Watch the rant below from around the 7:40 mark.
