Like pretty much everyone in Ireland, we were gutted today to hear of the passing of Frank Kelly.

Not only was he one of Ireland's finest actors, comics and all-round personalities – but he was also the man who brought the unforgettable Father Jack Hackett to life during the 1990s.

But let it never be said that his creation leaves behind no legacy – here are 13 important life lessons that we'll always have to thank him for.

12. Always remember that there are people out there who will do absolutely anything for you

13. And most of all, when you find the thing in life that makes you truly happy, hold on to it – and never let go
