Sure, it might only be the chorus of the song you translated in Irish College, but sure that's half the battle.
Dublin city is teeming with Gaeilgeoirs - loads of which work in the area. And with a drop or two of liquid courage in you to calm the linguistic nerves, you may even consider yourself a Gaeilgeoir yourself.
Iontach!
So, without further adieu, here are 8 pubs in the vicinity who boast An Ghaeilge in droves...
1. TGI Friday's
Yep, none other than TGI's on Stephen's Green boasts a charming Gaeilgeoir - always ready to talk all things Tuiseal Ginideach over a lager and a collosal milkshake.
The Irish lover in question isn't in every day but is happy to accommodate those keen to use their cúpla focal should you book in advance.
Bhfuil sceallóga uait leis sin?
2. Mary's
One of our favourite haunts in the city - Mary's pretty much has it all.
Pints. Wowburger. Memorabilia. Oh, and now Irish. Maith sibh.
3. Bar Rua
Of course Bar Rua have a bitta Gaeilge - how could they not with a name like that?
The redhead haven is all about embracing Irish culture. And they serve some deadly food while they're at it.
4. P. Mac's
Yep, P. Mac's isn't just the cosiest spot in town. It's also one of the Irishest.
Incase you Gaeilge fiend didn't remember - the Pop-Up Gaeltacht was on here back in January. Or were you too ólta to notice?
5. The Gingerman
You can't go two feet without bumping into an Irish speaker in The Gingerman - sure isn't it Fenian Street it's on itself!
Brush up on your tuiseal gairmeach and maybe you too could be one of them...
This trendy spot is so much more than just your average hostel... And you know that upon simply walking through their big Gaeilgeoir lovin' doors.
Do yourself a favour and abair Dia duit upon entering, and see if they give you the Muire back...
8. And finally, The Celt
Well, naturally.
Reppin' the northside - this Talbot Street haunt boasts some of the best craic you'll ever have. Potentially one of the easiest spots in the city to get a céilí going - you're pretty much guaranteed a good night in here.
So, there you have it.
Way more éasca than you'd think.
Give it a go next time you're out - you'd be surprised how many people are only dying to labhairt leat as Gaeilge.

Remember 2007? Every Irish Leaving Cert oral exam was essentially a panic attack punctuated by shaky mentions of “cúlú eacnamaíochta.” Now, the discourse is back but 2025-ified. Instead of being pumped into us via well meaning language teachers, this time it is fuelled by TikTok sleuths dissecting every minor inconvenience as proof we’re already in […]
A survival guide for the tragically trendy now being bullied by signage. So. It’s sunny. You’ve got your tiny sunglasses on, your €17 graphic tee is cropped just enough to show the tattoo you got in a moment of heartbreak, and your Sambas have barely touched grass. You’ve done your civic duty and supported a […]
Waking up at 5AM is slightly more tolerable when there’s the Best Sunrise Views in Dublin and the opportunity to flex on main. There’s a specific kind of person who voluntarily wakes up at sunrise. They’re either spiritually awakened, deeply anxious, on a wellness bender, or just trying to feel something before the workday starts. […]
