Conor McGregor is well used to being followed by a gaggle of journalists everywhere he goes and more often than not he’s more than willing to provide them with sharp one-liner which they can stick in their headlines.
Yesterday though, the shoe was on the other foot when the UFC star emerged from his appearance at Blanchardstown District Court. While heading back towards his car and batting away questions from journos, Conor went into full ‘change-the-subject’ mode by pointing at his car and exclaiming “look at that motor, what a motor!”
RTÉ’s Paul Reynolds pulled off his best cutting McGregor impression by hitting back, quick as a flash, with “it’s only a 1.5, Conor!”
Check out the funny moment at the 0.16 second mark of the video below…

Conor could only meekly respond with “yeah but it’s a rocket ship” and it’s fair to say Reynolds’ sharp wit was appreciated…
I don’t think we have enough appreciation for the guy who told Conor McGregor “It’s only a 1.5” when he left the courtroom today.

If that was RTE’s Paul Reynolds who said, “It’s only a 1.5” to Conor McGregor, then he is officially replacing Joe Schmidt as my man-crush… https://t.co/hRfQVVNPtc

RTE should definitely give Paul Reynolds a show in which he takes various celebrities down a peg or two with the kind of quip he gave McGregor. Roy Keane next.
