The National Gallery has just recently reopened following a six-year refurbishment with an exhibition of Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675), famed for painting the internationally recognised piece Girl with a Pearl Earring.
Yet another artistic and creative spot in town, South William Street nail salon Tropical Popical, have also been asked to get involved with the exhibition – but in an entirely different way.
The Dublin-based nail artists have been asked to recreate Vermeer’s artwork onto people’s nails.
The girls will be providing five different Vermeer styles in-store for the month of August, with one day of nail painting in the Gallery in September.
This isn’t the talented ladies first dip into the art pool, however.
They have also recreated the work of Vincent van Gogh and Roy Lichtenstein on to customers’ nails, as well as Dublin artist Maser – pictured above.
The exhibition opened on June 17 and will run until September 17, with the Trop Popettes providing nail art in their South William Street salon for the month of August.
