The outpourings of love for the Thin White Duke have been seen around the globe, with our very own Roddy Doyle offering up a touching tribute.

Our favourite images come courtesy of artist Helen Green (whose work here is really worth following), with these amazing pictures.

This image in particular has been going viral today, a gif which charts the aging of the Brixton musician (created for his 69th birthday last week) and his changing looks along the way.

One of the Bowie’s biggest fans (seriously, peruse her portfolio), the artist was devastated by the news.
I’m shaking so much, this news isn’t processing at all.. my thoughts and love are with David Bowie’s family, friends and fellow fans today..
