We guess we have gotten into a bad habit of wanting to document gigs and shows we go to on social media.
No matter what you go to see you are bound to see a lot of people on their phones to take pictures and videos of the event.
It’s just a given in this day and age. We’re grown accustomed to it.
Well, those heading to Chris Rock’s gig in the 3 Arena at the end of the month will have to say goodbye to their phones.
That’s right. The hilarious comedian is having a ‘phone-free’ policy at his Total Blackout gig on September 30.
MCD Productions posted the news to their website this morning.

The American actor and comedian is teaming up with the Yondr Pouch which will be the first time it’s used in Ireland.
Everyone who brings their phone along will have to put it in the pouch until it’s over.
The special pouch is designed to allow phone signals to get through but none to go out. If someone needs to use their phone during the gig they have to leave the room, get the device unlocked and then can freely use it in the lobby or outside.
We guess you will only use it if it’s really important.
Chris Rock’s Dublin gig at the 3Arena later this month will be a phone-free gig, thanks to Yondr https://t.co/X31jsiW2fF pic.twitter.com/fzGrpEvOBy

Maybe it will be good to look away from our phones for awhile and focus on what we’re actually going to see.
How do you feel about this?
