Conor McGregor has sparked controversy with a recent Facebook post.
The mixed martial artist made the inflammatory statement after pictures of him wearing a poppy at a UFC event in 2013 did the rounds on social media, ahead of the Poppy Day memorial celebration this November 11.

The status has brought the fighter under fire, with one fan of his page complaining,

After the status gained over 40,000 likes on the social network and causing a storm of controversy, McGregor took to his Twitter account to clarify his earlier statement.
