The Luas Cross City line opened last year, with huge queues for the first trams from Stephen’s Green to Broombridge in Cabra.
But this much-needed public transport service has been a long time coming, as evidenced by this incredibly 90s clip from RTE Show Reeling in the Years.
Plans for a light rail network in Dublin were first announced in 1995 – and the 3D animation they used is hilariously low-tech.
As you can see, the Luas goes right around College Green.
It only took a solid 23 years for that to become a reality… Dreams really can come true.
