The redevelopment of The Iveagh Markets, Dublin is finally starting this spring! A €90 million development plan has been given the go ahead to start works on the indoor market which was initially built by the Guinness family in the 1900s.
The Iveagh Markets based on Francis Street in the Liberties will be a fantastic facility and attraction for both locals and tourists of Dublin city. Traders will include food producers and designers of both Irish textiles and crafts. We’re really excited about the news, a historic indoor market is something that Dublin is really lacking. When you look at how La Boqueria in Barcelona and The English Market in Cork attract flocks of tourists while also developing a sense of community amongst locals, it makes us really excited for its grand opening in 2017!
