13-Year-Old Boy Charged With Murder Of Schoolgirl Anastasia Kriegel

It has been confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of school girl Anastasia Kriegel.

Kriegel was found beaten to death and naked in an abandoned farmhouse in Lucan on May 16.

Two boys were arrested on Friday morning as part of an investigation into the murder – a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old. 

Gardaí said that the investigation is extremely sensitive and they delayed the announcement because they feel that there will be anger over the murder in some sections of the community.  

The boys in question were questioned by Garda specialist child interviewers and were also accompanied by their parents.

In a statement, Gardaí said that: 

“One of the two juveniles arrested in connection with this investigation is expected to appear before Dublin District Children’s Court, Smithfield at 6pm on Friday charged in connection with the investigation.

“A second juvenile male will be released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
