Department Of Health Evacuated After Suspicious Package Is Sent To Simon Harris

Emergency services were sent to deal with a “suspicious package” that was sent to the Department of Health this morning and reportedly addressed to Health Minister Simon Harris.

The entire office on Baggot Street Lower was then evacuated, including Harris.

The Independent reports that the package, reportedly containing a “suspicious material” was sent to the office and it was decided that the entire department would be evacuated.

The Army bomb disposal unit is reportedly on the scene of the incident and Gardaí confirmed that Dublin Fire Brigade “have control of the site”.

Dublin Fire Brigade also tweeted, ‘We are on scene at an incident in a premises on Baggot Street Lower.

‘To help us deal with the incident the road has been closed. Expect traffic delays and disruption in the area.’
