The grimmest month of the year is very nearly over, and everyone’s bank accounts are looking a lot healthier than they have in weeks. So what better to do than celebrate with some fun things to do this weekend?
Here’s our pick of six brilliant ways to kick back over the next two days…
Home Barista Workshop
While many of us don’t get going in the morning without our cup of coffee, the ins and outs of producing a truly spectacular brew remains elusive to most.
This course gives you the chance to develop and perfect your barista skills and is set up for both professional coffee makers and home enthusiasts. Throughout the session your instructor takes you through the full coffee process, from farm to cup, and introduces you to some of the newest techniques in home coffee-making
Sim Simma Presents: Jammz & AJ Tracey (UK)
If you’re in the mood for some tasty grime, this is the only place to be on Friday evening.
Jammz and AJ Tracey are two unbelievable grime MCs and they will be bringing the heat to Wigwam tonight. You can kick things off at 8pm with some reggae yoga before dancing the night away to some of the best grime you’re likely to hear this year.
Escape Game: The Curse of The Mummy
Xit has been gaining a lot a hype for its creative escape games – the first of its type in Ireland – and with good reason! These elaborate, challenging multiplayer game scenarios are a fantastic way to do something a little bit different as a group of mates.
Their newest challenge, ‘The Curse of The Mummy’, sees you locked in an archaeological dig site, necessitating you to work together to solve a series of cryptic codes and travel through spooky forgotten tombs.
So get a team of between 2-5 together and let the fun commence!
Body Painting Jam with Cake + Tea
Now for something entirely different. If you’re looking for a way to let your creative spirit loose then look no further than this unique event, held in The Back Loft in The Liberties this Saturday.
This body painting event is open to seasoned vets and absolute beginners. It’s a great opportunity for a bit of craic with artists, models and photographers and there’s some lovely snacks on board to go with it.
Daniel Wang @ Wigwam
A veteran with the restless energy of a DJ just breaking onto the scene, this is why Daniel Wang has continually delighted dancefloors for decades.
This week he stops by the Emerald Isle once again for a night in Wigwam filled to the brim with disco classics and an assortment of obscure funky cuts.
The Chapel Sessions: Rob Donnelly, Arenn Piéz, Seán Byrne + The New Social
If your weekend hasn’t been elegant enough already, how about stopping by Trinity College’s chapel on Monday to witness the sounds of these talented Trinity students in the beautiful surroundings of this old building.
The three singers will be joined by hotly-tipped band The New Social in what’s sure to be a mesermising musical display. All proceeds go to a great cause too!
