Irish Water Receive Complaints About Poor Tasting Water In Dublin

katedemolder

Irish Water has found themselves at the centre of the dispute over Dublin’s water supply once again.

According to sources sent to the Irish Mirror, the facility built a temporary car park too near to an already existing reservoir, thus affecting the water supply.

This follows the prolonged drought in counties Louth and Meath which lasted for up to two weeks in certain places.

A source in Dublin City Council said:

“In Ballyboden, Irish Water were given warnings about building too close to the existing reservoir, which they ignored.

“Now we have multiple complaints of foul-tasting water.

“This is due to two things – chemical run-off from Irish Water’s new temporary car park, which is right next to the water, and someone being careless with topsoil and chemicals.” Irish Water said the site is an uncovered treated water reservoir and a project is under way to deliver a covered one by next year.”

Sinn Féin Drogheda TD Imelda Munster has also chimed in to say:

“This vindicates concerns I raised last week and again questions Irish Water’s ability to deliver our water services.”
