Monster Blue Fin Tuna Catch Arrives In Dublin

emmakenneally

If you were walking through Drury Street today you might have seen what looked like Jaws being delivered to Super Miss Sue, it was in fact a giant Atlantic Blue Fin Tuna. The first blue fin tuna of the short three week season in Ireland was caught and delivered to their door for slicing and dicing for specials in their restaurant along with Dillingers, The Butcher Grill and 777.

The fish was caught in Castletownbere, Cork and head chef Karl managed to get first dibs. The monster of a fish weighs in at 120kg and is over 7 foot long and 2 foot wide. The catch was unusually early, usually the short season begins in September, and is the very first Blue Fin Tuna caught in Irish waters this year. Which means Dubliners get to sink their teeth into it before anyone else in the country!

If you’re curious to try out this monster and see what it’s like there will be specials in each of the restaurants above for the rest of the week.
