Irish band The Strypes will giving a free performance in HMV Dundrum today at noon and you should really check them out if you can.
The Cavan band will play a live set and hold a meet ‘n’ greet with their fans this afternoon. The show comes ahead of the release of their new album ‘Little Victories,’ the follow-up to the hugely successful ‘Snapshot.’
Influenced by The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Jam, Elvis Costello, The Ramones, and The Undertones, the youthful band from Cavan (all of whom are either 19 or 20) made their big debut on The Late Late Toy Show in 2010. Since then they’ve appeared on Later… With Jools Holland, Chelsea Lately, and The Late Show With David Letterman.
Also, the likes of Dave Grohl and Elton John have claimed to be fans of theirs, so they’re kind of a big deal.
To see the the brilliant up-and-comers today, get to HMV Dundrum at noon. Get there early if you can though (they recommend 11.15am) as it’s expected to fill up fast.
Small catch though, to attend you’ll have to pre-order the album in HMV Dundrum or online. Although if you’re a fan of these guys, you were probably going to do that anyway.
