There Will Be A Huge Meteor Shower Visible From Ireland This Weekend

katedemolder

One of the most stunning events in the stargazer’s calendar is set to take over Dublin skies this very weekend.

The annual Perseid meteor shower is set to peak on the night of Saturday, August 12 – although you’ll still get excellent visibility on August 11 and 13.

The shooting stars, which are estimated to be about same size as a piece of a sand, are thought to travel at about 37 miles a second during the meteor shower that will be clearly visible across the globe.

A meteor shower’s activity is measured in its zenithal hourly rate (ZHR). At its peak on August 12-13, the Perseid shower will boast a huge ZHR of 80-100 meteors per hour.

Best of luck!
