7 Cookery Courses To Check Out This Summer

andrew.mc

In our busy lives we can often get so carried away with ‘taking in’ and ‘eating out’ that we forget to stop and smell the… rosemary.

And given that the tastiest meal is the one you cook yourself, that’s an awful shame. So here are a few deadly cookery courses across Ireland to help you up your game over the summer months…

1. Ballyknocken Cookery School, Co.Wicklow

Founded by TV chef Catherine Fulvio, this course suits family-style chefs and is extremely popular. Better still, Ballyknocken also offers a place to stay and dinner in the farmhouse – so you can really make a weekend of it.

2. Cooks Academy, South William Street

Located in the heart of the city, Cooks Academy runs a range of courses from beginner to expert – covering everything from weekend workshops to eight-week certificate courses, and from hen party days to special barbecue lessons.

These guys really know what they’re doing – both in terms of education and the craft itself – and you’ll be in good hands once you walk up those steps.

3.Ballymaloe Cookery School, Co.Cork

Ballymaloe probably doesn’t need any introduction.

It’s the world-famous cookery school, home to Darina and Rachel Allen, which runs three highly popular 12-week courses each year. But if you’re not quite on for something that intense, their single-day classes cover everything from brunch specials to ‘hands-on lamb butchery’.

We’re in.

4. Donnybrook Fair, Co.Dublin

You know them for their soups, salads and sandwiches – but what you might not have known is that they run courses from their location on Morehampton Road.

Here you’ll find a beautiful kitchen which hosts a variety of themed evening and weekend courses for kids and adults, including (again) a BBQ masterclass.

The restaurant focuses on grill cooking but their cookery courses range from Italian cooking to – you guessed it – BBQ masterclasses.
