A Swish New Cocktail Bar In A Basement Is Opening In Dublin City Centre Tonight

Sarah

Looking for somewhere new to settle down this weekend and enjoy your fave tipple?

Look no further than 9 Below, Dublin’s newest (and by the looks of it, fanciest) basement bar that’s popped up just off Stephen’s Green.

The new high-end bar is opening tonight in the basement beneath the notoriously exclusive St Stephen’s Green Hibernian members’ club, and is owned by NolaClan, the same group behind House on Leeson Street and Xico.

The Irish Times reports that €800,000 was invested in 9 Below, which will be a swanky style bar with a focus on table service, nicely dressed guests, and a reservations only policy.

9 Below has a speakeasy-style design with premier alcohol brands

Seating is arranged around four cellar-style rooms and unlike other bars in the NolaClan group will not be serving food as 9 Below couldn’t install a kitchen in the historically listed basement.

Groups who know they’re going to be peckish can arrange for sushi to be provided with advance notice, and the bar is hoping to be to go-to spot for pre and post dinner drinks.

It looks like a seriously stylish bar for a special occasion

Art deco accents can be seen in the lighting and the attention to detail is a real treat; delicate swallow motifs painted on the ceiling above the bar and vintage-y walnut tables surround the plush leather armchairs.

The swish new cocktail lounge will open from 3pm-11.30pm Tuesday to Thursday, and from 3pm-12.30am Friday and Saturday.

We’ll get a Negroni please. See you there?
