Motorists Warned To Take ‘Extreme Care’ As Met Éireann Predicts Heavy Downpours

We’ve a bit of bad news for you this Monday morning, as the wet weather is back with a bang.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for Galway, Mayo, Cork and Kerry, warning that there are torrential downpours expected between now and midnight.

Between 25 to 35mm of rain is expected to fall over the course of the day, with “further accumulations expected for Tuesday”.

According to The Mirror, there is a risk of flooding in some areas and motorists have been warned to take care when driving in affected areas.

“Tonight will continue to be wet in western coastal counties with some heavy falls leading possibly to localised flooding.”
