While the organisers of the Bray Air Display have insisted that the 12pm start time was to enable people get there early, it’s becoming quickly apparent that this message didn’t make it to the thousands who are currently waiting on the seafront for some action.
Between impatient children, spitting rain and general boredom, the #BrayAirDisplay hashtag is full of some very pissed-off people.
Indeed, the website’s ‘In The Air’ page states that the ‘Display’ kicks off at 12 noon…
Some people have had enough and are either going home or on the brink of doing so…
@AidanCoughlan tired child so left.. A proper schedule of times would have been a plan..pissed off ????

@BrayAirShow Getting cold up Bray Head. What time is the show actually starting? Thinking of going home. #BrayAirDisplay

Others are just seriously annoyed that they were misled by the start time
Came from Cork early (for 12 as advertised) and the point was what exactly? #BrayAirDisplay @BrayAirShow

Why advertise a 12 noon start for #BrayAirDisplay, just been told nothing in air until 2pm.

#BrayAirDisplay has not yet started. I hate the organizers who mentioned 12am @BrayAirShow

And the rain hasn’t been helping matters…
It’s starting to rain and no sign of any planes! Disappointed at the long delays #BrayAirDisplay
— Orla Faughnan (@orlafaughnan) July 23, 2016
#BrayAirDisplay why should we give rain a chance? ????

The bet was ‘Rain or a Plane??..’

Nor has the hunger, among kids and adults alike…
Funnily enough, there’s food most days; it was the stuff in the air that drew me to #BrayAirDisplay https://t.co/nKrGXhb8ca

But trust the Irish, of course, to see the funny side…
#BrayAirDisplay appears to involve a solitary helicopter flying in circles for an hour. #craggyislandfunfair

“A child is stuck in the Tunnel of Goats.” That would be excitement. #craggyislandfunfair #BrayAirDisplay
