An army officer went viral yesterday after he appeared on RTÉ chatting on his mobile in the middle of the 1916 centenary ceremony.
While it appeared at first that this press officer had made a huge mistake, it has since been revealed by the defence forces that the soldier was simply doing his job at the time, as he was handling a query from a journalist.
Other pictures of the man in question also came to light after the ceremony which painted him in an altogether better light…
