The Garda Síochána Twitter account is well worth following because it often gives us stories like this.
Last night the Gardaí came across a motorist on the M50 with an unsecure load on their car, that of a mattress and headboard tied with a length of garden hose. Seriously.
Needless to say, the Garda were not impressed with the improvised fastenings and issued the driver with a fixed charge penalty notice for the reckless behaviour.
