A new 25,000 seater stadium might just be coming to South Dublin.
Dublin GAA is reportedly in the process of finalising a deal to buy the Spawell Complex in Templeogue – which currently houses a bar, hotel, pitch & putt course, and tennis courts – for approximately €9 million.
Their purchase of the site was first attempted in 2015 but the deal fell through at that time; the original plan was to use it to create a 25,000 seater stadium with four full-size pitches and a plethora of facilities. It’s thought that this site may also serve as their official centre of excellence, according to Irishexaminer.com.
