Ah, Dublin Fire Brigade. The knights in shining armour we all need.
The crew helped bring newborn Matilda into the world in Swords earlier today. Baby Matilda was born at home with the help of both emergency services workers and paramedics.
The Fire Brigade took to Twitter to post up a picture of mother, baby and two firefighters – who are all elated after the delivery.
Congrats to baby #Matilda born today on #AustraliaDay with the assistance of our Swords fire & ambulance crew at home. Mum + baby doing well pic.twitter.com/HEWRZtAcUN

The tweet in full says:
”Congrats to baby #Matilda born today on #AustraliaDay with the assistance of our Swords fire & ambulance crew at home. Mum + baby doing well”
Great news all ’round.
God knows it takes a lot for us to smile after lunch on a Thursday in January – but that’s only gone ahead and left us in bits.
