14 Restaurants In Town Ideal For A Good Catch Up With Mates Over Christmas

The time of frantically trying to see all the friends you haven’t bothered your hole with for the last 11 months of the year is finally upon us.

What more could you ask for? Even if the company disappoints, these spots defo won’t.

1. Urchin

This very cool restaurant opened downstairs at Cliff Townhouse earlier this year, with amazing cocktails and some very adventurous food. It’s the perfect spot to head with your mates for a few hours of chats, laughs and nibbles.

2. Dada

This place is one of the more beautiful restaurants in the whole of Dublin, this Moroccan-themed haunt serves up some delicious vegetarian and vegan recipes that will leave you full for hours.

The seating arrangements are perfect for big groups, with big booths available for booking every night.

3. Featherblade

In the mood for a tender, juicy steak? This will be your new meat feasting place from now on.

Sometimes all you want is no-fuss, excellent quality food – and you’ll find it here.

4. 777

This Mexican restaurant is reasonable, tasty and loads of fun on any given night. Here’s where you need to bring your rowdy friends for a big evening meal before going out.

And if you go on Sundays and only have to fork out €7.77? All the better.

Seating arrangements are perfect for big groups, and they boast a cocktail menu to die for.

5. Chameleon

Hidden away in Temple Bar, Chameleon is an Indonesian restaurant full of charm, and the most incredible food.

The interior is as decadent as it is impressive, and the long tables and authentic comfy couches make it easy for a big group to feel at ease and completely catered for.

6. TriBeCa

This trendy New York style restaurant is a real local fave, and is the ideal place to pop down to for a bite to eat and glass of wine.

One member of the Lovin Dublin group is OBSESSED with their wings, try them and you’ll see why.

7. Richmond

Practically the definition of a neighbourhood gem, this divine place has a great value early-bird and their Tuesday Tasting Menu is defo one to put on your list.

Whatever you order here will be delicious, beautifully presented and won’t break the bank. Perfect.

8. Bow Lane

Bow Lane and its merry men go above and beyond to give you everything you’ve ever wanted out of a restaurant. The roomy interior boasts plenty of space for you and a troupe, as well as an impressive menu which surely would suit everyone.

The cocktails and mocktails section also caters to all imbibers.

9. Farmer Brown’s

Farmer Brown’s is the perfect place to bring your mates to for a big, happy meal out.

Their menu is fun, the decor is great and the atmosphere is deadly – not to mention the whopper tunes they have going while you sit and enjoy one of the better meals of your life.

10. Box Burger

There are very few places, by the seaside especially, where you can bring everyone you know, and still have room to sit more – but the glorious Box Burger out in Bray has atmosphere in droves and room for days.

The menu here caters to everyone who enjoys taste, and the drinks have to be seen to be believed. Perfect for a big family night out.

11. Market Bar

Tasty, reasonable, situated in the middle of town and a specials board with will make your mouth water every time – Market Bar boasts a lot of things, and space is definitely one of them.

This place is lovely, fun and soaked in atmosphere, as well as being one of the trendiest spots in town. You also have the option to retreat upstairs after your meal for when you want to get away from the rest of the crowds.

12. Chai-Yo Teppenyaki

Home of the famous sushi boat, Chai-Yo Teppenyaki is one of the better places to bring a big group who are down for a good time. Sit yourself around an animated chef and get stuck into some delicious sushi, courtesy of the wildly talented masters.

An ideal haunt to get some food before an evening on the tiles… or the couch, whatever.

Their infamous porn burgers leave even the most dangerous of food lovers weak at the knees, and the menu doesn’t stop there.

The staff are deadly, the drinks are whopper and the whole atmosphere is truly what you want for a big evening meal together.
