What feels like the longest week ever is drawing to a close, and now it’s time to kick back.
There’s a heap of different things happening across this city this weekend, so we’ve picked out some of the best bits and bobs to check out…
Friday
Hail, Caesar! + Hollywood Golden Era Fancy Dress Party
Lighthouse Cinema, 8pm
Be the first to see Joel and Ethan Coen’s brand new, star-studded comedy Hail, Caesar! tonight in glam fancy dress. The opening night party will take place in the bar from 8pm, with the screening kicking off at 10.30pm. Fancy dress in the form of mermaids, spies, cowboys, sailors and just about anything else under the sun is encouraged. Get tickets here.
Sim Simma Live MC Special
Wigwam, 10pm
The boys are back with a treat of an evening at Wigwam. You can expect the usual Sim Simma residents Tim, Jonny and Shabba on the decks with special guest MCs Chris Montana (Dah Jevu), Skxvngr and ISXXC64. Plus if you’re in the mood for some dancehall groovin’ you can pop along for a lesson at the earlier time of 9pm. Nice wan.
Saturday
Mother ft JAPE (DJ Set)
Copper Alley, 11pm
What better way to ring in Mother’s Day than an evening spent at Mother? Irish electronic powerhouse JAPE returns to the club on Saturday alongside Mother’s very own Rocky T Delgado. This will be a sweaty, but brilliant affair. Nab a spot on the dancefloor beside the fan if you can.
Âme DJ Set
District 8, 11pm
If you haven’t had the chance to check out Âme on the decks as of yet, you best get yourself down to District 8 tomorrow night. He has been crate-digging for decades, so his record bag is always packed full of treats. Expect a seriously atmospheric set with the odd curveball from this champ.
