Mondays are miserable enough on average.
But throw a depressing homemade and half-arsed lunch into the mix and you’re in for one of the worst days of your life.
Ah no, bit dramatic. But you deserve something niiiiiice, something cheap and something tashty af.
Here are 7 lunches for under a tenner that will brighten up your Monday a lil.
1. Soup and sambo – J.T. Pim’s
Not the first place you’d think of when it comes to lunch, but you’ll be really pleasantly surprised by their decently-priced offerings.
€10 for this massive feed? Count us in.
We’d recommend the mushroom and bacon soup if it’s on the menu – nothing short of life-changing.
2. Alfie’s
Their €10 ‘lunchbox’ deal is great value. You choose three dishes from about 20 options.
The wings, mac ‘n’ cheese and vol au vent are all decently tashty.
3. Mushrooms on Toast – Fia
If you’re in the Rathgar area, or anywhere nearby you should definitely pay Fia a visit.
For €9 you get the perfect serving of mouthwateringly perfect balsamic braised girolle and portobello mushrooms on sourdough toast with salsa verde, fresh herbs and truffle creme fraiche.
You can add a fried egg for an extra yo-yo too.
4. Udon noodle soup – Japanese Kitchen
Yes, I know, I’ve said it enough times – this is one of the best lunches on offer in Dublin.
Maybe if you just went and tried it I wouldn’t have to tell you about it so much? How bouh dah?
€7.50 for piping hot broth with udon noodles and your choice of chicken or beef. Now I’m craving it myself.
5. Ramen – Zakura
There’s nothing more comforting than a big bowl of ramen, and Zakura’s lunch portions are MASSIVE.
I could barely finish this vegetable and tofu (yasai) ramen I had the last day. But it was so gorgeous and only €7.99!
Their lunch menu is really reasonable, find them on Baggot and Wexford Street.
6. Sambo – 147 Deli
Their wraps and sambo are heavenly.
So packed full of perfectly prepared and seasoned sandwiches.
Anybody who puts mac ‘n’ cheese in a sambo is considered a friend of Lovin Dublin’s.
7. Sambo – Dunne and Crescenzi
We’d recommend the panini and soup deal for €7.50.
From their buffalo mozzarella to their pesto and parma ham – puuuuuure perfection.
