This Fantastic Retro Drive-in Cinema Is Returning For Paddy’s Weekend

Sarah

Start gathering your cinema crew because the deadly Retro Drive-In movie theatre is coming back to Cherrywood for a ‘St. Patrick’s Weekend Drive-in Spectacular’.

Movie on a big screen from the comfort of your car? This is right up our street.

You can even tune your car radio in to the speakers, so you’re guaranteed perfect sound.

The cinema will show classic favourites, with a special 20-year anniversary screening on Titanic on March 18th.

There are specially themed tickets and every one issued for the Titanic Drive-in will be connected to a real passenger aboard the ill-fated ship, complete with the passengers name and nationality.

You can also catch the iconic movies Stand By Me and The Princess Bride, both of which were released 30 years ago (and will always be our faves).

Other solid movie choices include the action-romance classic Top Gun starring Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis, as well as a family-friendly matinee screening of Toy Story.

The one that we’re most excited for? Reliving the glory days of Italia ’90 with the Roddy Doyle classic The Van starring Colm Meaney.

As for snacks, Retro has you sorted with hot dogs, homemade burgers, fresh popcorn, pizza and coffees and hot chocolate so you can gorge to your heart’s content.

Tickets are priced at €28 (plus booking fee) per car and both of the previous events at Christmas and Halloween sold out, so we’d recommend you get in fast if you want to enjoy a date night ‘Sandy and Danny’ style.

Tickets for Retro Drive-in are available online here.
