Nowadays it’s really easy to get sucked up by negativity and bad news. That’s why whenever we hear a good story about the people of Dublin ,we simply have to share it.
Dublin-based DJ Niall D’Arcy went to retrieve his bike this morning before head to college to discover it wasn’t there. Instead of his bike he found the lock and a note with it. Niall explained “before I looked at it I was expecting that I was gonna have to make some sort of Liam Neeson “I can tell you that I don’t have money, but what I do have…” type phone call to get my bike back!”. But instead of a Taken style situation, the note stated that he hadn’t locked his bike properly and to contact Donnybrook Garda station to retrieve it.
When Niall called them they informed him that a lady who lives on his road had noticed it hadn’t been locked correctly, and was minding it in her house until he contacted her. They passed on the lady’s details, and he popped to her house to pick it up. As could be expected, Niall’s absolutely delighted by her good deed: “I’ve gone and bought her and very nice bottle of red wine to thank her! I was so happy, and it’s deadly to see that there is lovely people around that would think to do this kind of thing for a complete stranger.”
Now, if this story doesn’t restore your faith in humanity, we don’t know what will… More of this please, Dublin!
