We had a good creep in Dollard & Co yesterday and found 17 Deadly Bits that you should really check out right now.
But that was only a small part of our mission...
Our main mission was to find the most expensive item for sale in all of Dollard & Co - Wellington Quay's beautiful new food emporium.
And that - we did...
On our hunt to find the most expensive item in the entire store, we went straight to the people in the know - Dollard & Co's staff, who were more than willing to help us find the pricey piece.
One lovely member of staff led us excitedly towards the pantry items section first where he pointed out two pretty steep gourmet food items to us.
The first, 10 grams of saffron filaments for a whopping €40:
Not the most expensive item in the entire shop, but definitely the priciest small item.
You may be wondering why the feck saffron is so expensive?
Well, there are only three saffron threads per flower and as of yet, there is no mechanised way of separating threads from plant. It takes 14,000 saffron threads to produce one ounce... which explains why it's the most expensive spice on earth!
Next up on our hunt to find the most expensive item in the store was this €90 bottle of balsamic vinegar...
Hot damn. It would wanna taste like nectar of the gods and transform salads into magic for that price.
And last, but not least, after happily trawling around Dollard & Co and annoying the staff - we found THE most expensive item in the entire place...
Behold, Hennessy X.O which will set you back €205:
It does taste like gold, after all...
Dollard & Co ain't all pricey-pricey though - we found lovely bottles of chilled prosecco for just €13!
