Dine In The Dark Is On This Month And Here’s How You Can Get Involved

Kelsey

Fancy a dining experience that is completely different to anything you’ve ever done before? Look no further.

Dine in the Dark is taking place in Dublin this month and is being hosted by Ireland’s National Council for the Blind along with celebrity chef Neven Maguire.

They’re raising money to provide lifechanging services to those with vision loss or impairment by providing customers with a unique culinary experience. Guests will be blindfolded as they eat, allowing them to tap into all their senses.

It sounds a bit nerve wracking and we love it.

“Without their sight to guide them, guests experience complex tastes, flavours, and textures in a completely new and innovative way. Senses are heightened, altering taste, touch, smell and communication during the meal.”

Sounds brilliant.

Neven Maguire Explains Dine in the Dark

Around 200 restaurants are involved around Ireland, so there are plenty of options.

You can find the list of participating restaurants here and some of our favourite Dublin spots are on the list.

Fallon & Byrne, Viva, Taste at Rustic, The Blind Pig, and Il Posto are just a few that are joining in the fun. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurants directly.

The event is running from 6th to 13th November and seats are bound to fill up fast. Grab ’em while you can.

There’s gotta be some good stories coming out of this and we can’t wait to hear them!
